About

Operators first. Advisors second.

Business Plane exists because most SMB owners have been sold the wrong kind of help. Strategy decks when they needed hands. Software subscriptions when they needed operations. AI pilots when they needed someone to pick up the phone. We built this to be the opposite.

Why Business Plane

The gap we keep seeing.

SMB owners at $2M–$25M in revenue live in an awkward zone. They're too small to hire a fractional COO plus a RevOps lead plus a support manager plus a documentation specialist. They're too big to keep running everything personally. The "solutions" marketed to them tend to fall into two failure modes.

The first is advice — consultants who hand over a strategy deck and disappear. The owner is left to execute alone, usually with a team already at capacity.

The second is software — tools that promise to automate the pain but still require someone to set them up, tune them, and run them. The owner spends their weekends configuring the platform instead of doing the work.

What's missing is the middle: a team that actually runs the operational work on an ongoing basis. Priced at SMB scale. Accountable for outcomes. Honest about what's worth doing and what isn't. That's what we're building.

How we think about AI

A tool, not an identity.

Our work uses AI. Lots of it. It's part of why we can deliver managed operations at SMB pricing — the leverage is real, and it's here to stay. But AI is how the work gets done, not what the work is. The work is: your leads get qualified, your meetings get actioned, your process gets documented, your reports get delivered.

We mention this directly because the market has spent two years marketing AI as the answer to every question. It isn't. We've seen businesses waste real money chasing capabilities they didn't need, solving problems they didn't have. When we look at your operations, the right answer sometimes involves AI, sometimes involves a better spreadsheet, and sometimes involves telling you to hire one specific person and stop trying to automate what should be human.

We'll tell you which one it is.

What we won't do

A short list, but we mean it.

01

Promise outcomes we can't deliver.

"Reduce costs by 60% with AI" is a line we won't write. We commit to operational outputs we control, not aspirational outcomes we don't.

02

Lock you in.

Month-to-month after the initial term. 60-day-for-cause out clause inside it. Your data stays yours. Switching away is never a fight.

03

Take on work we can't run well.

If a playbook is outside our wheelhouse, we'll say so — and often hand you a recommendation for someone who does it better. Our reputation is worth more than any one engagement.

04

Hide our pricing.

Every tier, every setup fee, every overage rate is on the site. You shouldn't have to sit through a discovery call to learn what something costs.

05

Sell you more than you need.

If Essentials is right for you, we'll tell you. If you don't need managed services at all and would be better served by the Assessment alone, we'll tell you that too.

Next move

If any of this sounds like what you've been looking for —

— let's talk. Thirty minutes. No pitch. We'll tell you honestly whether we're the right team.
